AUTOMATA (AUTOMated enriched digitisation of Archaeological liThics and cerAmics)
Using AI-augmented robotics and sensors, the EU-funded AUTOMATA project will create 3D models enriched with archaeometry data, providing a practical and cost-effective solution for digitisation of archaeological objects

AUTOMATA videos - robotic arm and 7 project's focus areas
In this section you will find a set of video animations illustrating the AUTOMATA visual identity, as well as the 7 main focus areas on which the consortium will work during the project’s duration. These video animations have been developed in collaboration with Imaginarium Studio creative lab.
On June 12, INRAP organised in Paris the first AUTOMATA ‘Multiplier Event’ titled “The ‘human in the loop’? Intersecting perspectives on the archaeologists’ future in the age of AI and automation”. It gathered archaeologists, curators, jurists, engineers, philosophers and researchers to critically and openly discuss how the newest developments in artificial intelligence and automatisation are reshaping archaeological practices.
