Engaging with the audiences
Engaging with a diverse range of audiences is a fundamental goal of the AUTOMATA project. The project seeks to democratize access to cultural heritage by making digitized artefacts available to both academic researchers and the general public.
Through an interactive digital platform, users will be able to explore 3D models of artefacts, zoom in on details, and access additional information such as the historical context or material composition of each item. This platform will not only serve as a resource for scholars but also as an educational tool for students and the broader public.
In addition to passive viewing, AUTOMATA encourages active participation through crowdsourcing initiatives, where users can contribute to the classification and annotation of artefacts. UNIPI’s artistic team, in collaboration with partners, will also creatively process scientific data using visual elements, digital animation, collage art and sound design. The aim is to transform complex scientific information into engaging video narratives highlighting how modern technologies, AI and Robotics contribute to knowledge creation.
This public involvement helps foster a sense of ownership and connection with cultural heritage, while also enriching the database with user-generated insights. By engaging creatively with a wide audience, AUTOMATA ensures that the stories embedded in these artefacts reach a broader and more diverse audience, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive understanding of our shared history.
