Simonetta Menchelli

Simonetta Menchelli, Professor of Ancient Topography and Underwater Archaeology at the University of Pisa has conducted or is conducting research in Italy (Tuscany, Liguria, the Marches) and Europe (Corsica, Albania, Hungary, Montenegro). Her research interests include excavation and survey methodologies with non-invasive diagnostic techniques and remote sensing, landscape and townscape archaeology, underwater archaeology and marine ecosystems, the archaeology of production, trade, and transport systems, and the study of ancient pottery with a specific focus on archaeometric aspects. She is a member of the editorial boards of Italian and international journals and has produced approximately 240 publications.
