Rémy Chapoulie

Professor of Physics for Archaeometry at the University Bordeaux Montaigne since 2006, he is currently a researcher at the UMR 6034 Archéosciences Bordeaux and director of the Archeovision platform (3D technologies). His main research activities concern the archaeometric and multiscale study and of ancient materials (ceramics, lithics, pigments, glass, prints, tapestries…) and the taphonomy of prehistoric cave walls (Dordogne, France). He develops the use of mobile (handheld) instruments for in-situ analyses (optical microscopy, hyperspectral imaging, fiber optical reflectance spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, Raman spectrometry) and works on the integration of scientific data into 3D referenced information systems.
